Sea View living

We took one very basic alcove kitchen and extended it to include a small party press/ coffee dock . We continued the joinery to include a false chimney breast and bench seating . This really brings in a focal point to the space .
This now allows the client to enjoy all the home comforts that the apartment living was missing . This weekend / holiday home will adapt to be a permanent home when the client is ready to downsize.
What a spectacular view and location to sit and relax . There are a few zoned seating areas to use at different times of the day or evening to really maximise the enjoyment of the sea view from different perspectives.

Style - skinny shaker painted doors with an oak veneer inside. Antique brass hardware @furnipart
Top cabinets added for extra storage. The doors have flutted glass and lighting added . The doors have an overhang to allow for grip and seamless finish .

Slow Christmas ..

I love how our home adapts well to extra numbers at times like Christmas.. it’s always about designing a home for the family that works well 95 percent of the time.. it’s that 5 percent then that allows for flexibility to be able to make an extra bed up or sit extra people at a dinner table. We don’t have massive rooms or extra bedrooms but the design allows us to adapt to suit our needs . Hybrid homes work harder and are a much more sustainable solution then having rooms that are unused most the year . Deign for life is key …

Wishing you all some slow down time , we are feeling very privileged to be on this side of the world .
I’m looking forward to sharing some of the biggest projects to date in 2025 along with some new services and exciting updates!!!!

As I approach the 4 th anniversary of my design studio. I am reflecting on the learning and experience I have got from working in industry in these past few short years. . Although I have spent over 2 decades lecturing and in the area of the creative Arts and design , it really only feels like I’m just getting started !!
I feel I am finally warming up and planning moving forward to building something that champions the design culture and community in the west of Ireland .

CLIENT Progress

Its all about the progress .. something that’s not finished but the essence of the space is starting to unfold .
This project is really starting to come together now so I’m going to show more process stage on our projects . I love to see how all the textures and materials are working together before it’s been styled and dressed .

I lot of pieces here are restored and repurposed but @cuttingedgetiles and @bathroomworldgalwayliosban have been great in sourcing for me on this . The stone is Parisian blue @cosentino.ie on the sink and backsplash.

A Mullan school house fitting is suspended from newly restored plaster work and ceiling rose .

It’s September and summer has finally arrived !! ….
Although I may have missed the boat on this post during the week as it’s raining now and I’m smothered with a cold !!! 😩

Oh well … it was a super week with amazing pink moon and super high tides .
