Ghost Train
Many development projects as we know have been abandoned, dismantled, bordered up and caged off. These ‘ghost estates’ and developments have made a significant impact on the landscape both physically and aesthetically.
The concept of the piece is to highlight the changes on the environment that we observe on a daily basis as we travel or take a journey. Embracing these liminal spaces at the edges of towns and cities, our main concern is to highlight and react with the industrial fixtures, textures and materials used in the constructing and decomposing of these sites. The results will portray a restrained visual piece that will remove familiar dismal gloomy scenes from abandoned locations to the inner surroundings of the gallery walls.
This will be done through the use of film, animation and traditional printmaking in a collaboration between an artist and a filmmaker.
